Riya

Riya's face recognition technology allows automatic tagging of your photos. According to their website, Riya can recognize & tag faces, signs and events.

The software looks damn cool. It is rumored that Google has expressed an interest in acquiring the company.

Beyond home users, this kind of automatic face recognition software would be a big help to organizations like Interpol, CIA, FBI etc. Or maybe they probably already have such software available.

truly, riya is cool. and how it does what it does is even cooler. beyon even cia and fbi, heres an way for using riya, as censoring agent. theoretically if riya can identify faces, it can also identify patches of flesh, and big brother has now way fo definitively weeding out porn. :P

Jeet,

Thanks for your wishes.

And yes, I gave it some thought and decided that if I have not posted personal stuff here, no reason to go around doing it now. :)

Cheers,
D.

I am not sure that you have not been posting personal stuff here. I consider photographs with my friends in them to be extremely personal and avoid posting them (though almost all of my posts are personal posts) :-)
